The neighbourhood of Agincourt, located
in the north-east end of Toronto
Since the 1980s, this area of Toronto has seen
a big influx of Asian
immigrants, mostly coming from Hong
Kong and Taiwan. It's a nice area, with
several Chinese shopping centers; hence the nickname, "Asiancourt".
"Callaghan (the curator of The Scarborough Historical Museum) was surprised to find that some newer residents actually believed the name
of the community was 'Asiancourt,' a sometimes
derogatory term used because of the community's large Asian population."
